Experiencing Super Nintendo World's Opening Day at Universal Studios

On February 4, 2021, Universal Studios opened its Super Nintendo World to the general public for the first time, and it was a day of excitement and anticipation for many visitors. Some people were so eager to see the new world that they arrived at the park's opening time, around 7:40 in the morning. This article describes the opening day's activities and experiences in the park.

Entering the Park and the Long Wait

As early as 20 minutes before opening, visitors were already lining up to enter Super Nintendo World, a stark contrast to the rest of the park. However, those who are familiar with the park's layout were confused by the path the staff directed them to take, which was in the exact opposite direction of the lower lot. Despite the confusion, everyone was excited to see what the opening day would bring.

As they made their way towards the lower lot, visitors snaked their way around the upper lot to find a rope trough. It was an exciting experience, just as exciting as the first time they went into the land a couple of weeks ago. Visitors made their way towards the escalators, which were the only way down to the lower lot, with the speakers playing in the background, begging people to go ride The Simpsons Ride and Studio Tour.

The Land and the Slow Process of Entering

As they made their way to the lower lot, visitors could see people flowing into Bowser's Castle, the far end of the park, which was the main entrance to Super Nintendo World. The park's management only had one escalator working, which seemed odd, but it was intentional to control the pulse of crowds getting into the park. The park's narrow and confined space couldn't hold a lot of people, so they had to keep visitors corralled upstairs and let them go down in stages until they filled the land.

Finally, visitors made their way through the warp pipe and into Super Nintendo World. It was a slow process, but everyone was excited to see the world of Mario come to life. The park was already full of people, and it was unclear how they would keep people off the land. However, the park management had planned something like a virtual queue to limit how people got in and out of the land, just like they did at Galaxy's Edge.

The day continues

As the day progressed, the park became more crowded, and visitors were excited to see what the world of Mario had in store for them. The park management had done a great job of bringing the Mario world to life with its many attractions and interactive experiences, and visitors were eager to see it all. Later on, the park management implemented a virtual queue to limit the number of visitors, but for those who managed to get in, it was an experience of a lifetime.
